(Inside the school hall)

Zee walked up to Amo who was dancing with Lindo. Zee:” Amo I think we should go…” She said dancing next to him. It was now 23h15 and the Ball ends at 00h00. Amo:” Already? It’s not yet 00h00 moes come on Zee…” Zee:” 00H00 is like 45 minutes away so it’s the same thing.” Amo:” May I please have these 45 minutes of fun? Then we’ll go, I promise.” He smiled. Zee:” Okay fine I guess. I’ll go sit down.” Lindo:” No please dance with us?” Zee:” I don’t want to impose on this fun time.” Them:” you sure?” Zee:” Of course.” She faked a smile. Zee made her way to the table when someone tapped her on the shoulder from behind. Zee:” (Laughs) Look at you looking all dapper and handsome.” She smiled. T’bose:” I try but I can’t compete with you…” He scanned her from head to toe Zee:” It’s nothing hau, why is everyone exaggerating though?” T’bose:” We’re not exaggerating, you do look hella sexy I’ll give you that.” He winked. Zee:” Please don’t flatter me. So where is your date?” T’bose:” His at the table miserable as fuck.” Zee:” He? Uhm… (Clears throat) sorry but are you gay?” She raised her brow. T’bose:” (Laughs hard) HELL NO!!! I very much love my pussy. So no, I’m not gay but I came with Tebo because we only had ugly girls to choose from as dates, all the sexy ones were taken manje we chose to come together.” Zee:” Ncaooo… How cute, you two make a cute couple.” She laughed. T’bose:” Yabona manje uyadelela…” Zee:” What? Hau, you guys are always together.” T’bose:” Because we’re close like that.” Zee:” mhmmm…” T’bose:” Please don’t make me hate your sexy ass?” “30 Minutes until the Ball comes to end. Enjoy these last minutes, be merry and have fun guys.” Everyone:” WOOOOOOOO…” Zee:” Can we go sit? These heels are killing me.” T’bose:” Sure but at my table.” Zee:” Uhm Thabo I don’t think that’s a good idea.” T’bose:” And why not?” Zee:” Look I’d love for us to chill but Tebo and I are not on speaking terms.” T’bose:” I know that, hence, his so miserable. The guy really misses you and when you made that grand entrance, he wouldn’t stop looking over at your table so I figured I’ll bring you to him. You guys need to sort yourselves out.” Zee:” (Smiles) you’re truly a good friend Thabo, his lucky to have you as a friend but sorry, I can’t put myself through that. If he wants to talk, then he’ll come to me. I can’t be forcing things, it will only backfire.” T’bose:” O! Okay, I get where you’re coming from. At least I tried.” Zee:” Indeed you did.” She smiled. T’bose:” I’ll see you around then, I can’t leave my date alone or else he’ll start crying thinking I stood him up.” Zee:” (Laughs) better run along then.” They hugged and parted ways. Zee walked to her table, everyone was dancing having a time of their lives and she was just not in it anymore. She kept thinking about Kea and what she saw and what that meant should she tell Lindo. She regretted allowing Sands to have a moment with her, she felt stupid and hated herself for allowing Sands to have that kind of effect on her. “And why are you just sitting here all alone while everyone is having fun?” Zee:” Busi…” She shook her head. Busi:” Is that all you’re going to say?” Zee:” What do you want me to say?” Busi:” Anything but that…” Zee:” Okay Busi, how may I be of service to you?” Busi:” You know we don’t have to hate each other?” Zee:” Your point is?” Busi:” We used to be good friends me and you, though bitchy towards each other at times but that was us. We got along just fine. I miss our friendship. It’s not the same anymore and with Kea out here trying to be place keeper and making you look bad. You really need someone at your corner right now. Look I’m sorry about what went down with Amo but it was just sex and nothing else. Please think about what I said?” Zee:” Yeah, sure… Thanks.” Busi returned to the dance floor and Zee just sat at the table counting down the minutes. She really wanted to leave but then because Amo is here ride she had to wait up. “Amo tells me that y’all are about to leave…” Zee:” Oh! He didn’t say anything to me, hence I’m here waiting for him.” Lindo:” He told me 2 minutes ago, probably went to the gents.” Zee:” Okay then, thanks for letting me know.” Lindo:” You don’t look like you had fun?” Zee:” Who? Me? No… I had fun. It’s just that I’m tired.” Lindo:” Sands has disappeared on me. I think his cheating on me.” Zee:” What? I doubt he is, that guy loves you.” Lindo:” I’d like to believe that but you know it’s like I’m forcing things with him.” She looked down. Zee:” You really do love him, don’t you?” Lindo:” You have no idea. I’m convinced that I have fallen for a player.” Zee:” He probably has a good reason why he left, that’s if his gone.” Lindo:” Yeah, maybe… Can I ask you something?” Zee:” Of course, anything…” Lindo:” Is there anything going on between you guys that I should know of?” Zee choked on her saliva, that question caught her off guard as she was not expecting Lindo to ask her that. Zee:” (Clears throat) Uhm… Why would you think there’s something going on between us Lindo?” Lindo:” I just want to know. Thing is, tonight is the night but I don’t want to have sex with him knowing that he doesn’t love me or even worse, my best friend being in love with my boyfriend. I need to be sure that you don’t love him and that there’s nothing going on.” Zee:” Babe there is nothing going on between us, we used to be friends but that’s over. Are you sure you want to have sex with him though?” Lindo:” Zee I’m not a virgin like you so it’s not that much of a big deal.” Zee:” I know, it’s just that I want you to be sure. Remember what happened with Kgothatso? I don’t want you falling for the same trap.” Lindo:” I am sure, hence I am talking about it with you.” “Talking about what?” Lindo:” Oh! Kea hey, where did you disappear to?” Kea:” I was here dancing…” Lindo:” Oh?” Kea:” Yeah…” Lindo:” Thank you Zee, for being honest with me that is.” Kea:” So what were you guys talking about?” Lindo:” Nothing to concern yourself with.” Zee:” Excuse me guys. Lindo we’ll talk okay?” She stood up and left. Kea:” Lindo is everything okay?” Lindo:” Yes, now please stop being so clingy and stuff it’s getting weird now…” She stood up and left. Kea just smiled and whispered “If only you knew.” “Time to wrap up you guys. Thank you for coming through and making this night a success. To the grade 8s, thank you guys for your hard work you served us well and to the matrics, well what can I say you guys, y’all represented us well talk about a way to set a precedent. Goodnight guys and please drive safe for those of you who will be driving. Till next time, adios.” Everyone:” Goodnight Themba!!!!” Themba was the MC and DJ, he played Wild Thoughts as everyone made their way out of the hall. Kea sent Sands a text message. Her: Don’t forget, The Capital Menlyn Maine room 224. Come or I send the video *wink wink.
