Zee: When I got home the parents were not home yet or should I say mom was not home yet since dad was on a business trip. Funny how he hasn’t called me since he left, last I spoke to him was when we were talking about me focusing on my books as soon as I go back to school and just like that he disappeared. I’m even scared to call him, what if he and mom are going through a divorce or something and they just want to spare me the hurt? Know what, I’m going to call him, I miss him so much. (Dialed dad’s number) I really hope he answers, we need to have a serious talk he and I. Voice:” Michael’s phone, hello.” That’s a woman’s voice, why would a woman be answering dad’s phone? Me:” Hi, may I please speak to Mr Fonté?” Lady:” And who might you be?” Me:” Would you just give him the damn phone! It’s his phone isn’t it?” I said angrily. Clearly she saw the caller ID so she knew exactly who she was talking to, busy out here asking me dump questions. Lady:” You know what Mike is busy, I’ll let him know you called!” She hung up. She did not just hang up on me, this bitch! I hope for dad’s sake the person who answered his phone is his assistant, someone who is just forward nje or else hell will break loose if mom were to find out that his out there cheating, having the time of his life, while she’s here thinking his on a business trip.

(Message alert) Tebo: Can I see you? Tebo is becoming too much now, I want to give him a chance but if his clingy now how much more will he be clingy when we’re dating? I really want him as a friend, nothing more. I don’t see him that way. I can’t force myself into being with him, it just won’t be fair on him. Me: When? Tebo: Now, I’m like 2 houses away from your house. Me: What are you doing this side? Tebo: T’bose came to see his girl or something. I don’t know, I just didn’t ask. Me: So you want me to keep you company while you wait for him? Tebo: Well yeah, if you don’t mind. Me: I’m coming… Tebo: Thank you. 🙂

I just changed into my Nike sweatpants and a Nike hoodie and wore my Adidas Neo sneakers. Mom was still not back from work and it was getting pretty late. I wonder where she is held up at, she’s usually at home by this time. I walked to where Tebo was and he looked so handsome in his casual clothes, I guess school uniform is not doing much justice to him shame. Me:” Hey you…” I smiled. Him:” My lady…” He pulled me in for a hug and kissed me on the cheek. Me:” So ukuphi uT’bose?” Him:” Really? Is that the first thing you’re going to ask me?” Me:” (Laughs) No hau come on, I don’t mean it that way…” Him:” I’m playing with you. He went down the street and said that I should wait for him here.” Me:” Okay, so wena ke how have been since we last saw each other?” Him:” I’m good now that I’m with you.” He smiled. He placed his hands on my waist and looked at me, we just stared at each other and I knew that right there and then I needed to be honest with him, heck I needed to be honest with myself even. With him holding me like this, I’m not feeling any chemistry between us, I’m not even compelled to lean in for a kiss. We can never work. Him:” You’re beautiful do you know that?” Me:” Uhm… Thank you, you’re not bad yourself.” I smiled. He leaned in for a kiss and I just pushed him away. Him:” Zee come on… What’s wrong with this?” Me:” Uhm… Look Tebo, I’m sorry but I can’t keep doing this... To you, to me...” I looked down. Him:” What do you mean?” Me:” I… look I don’t want to be anything with you either than friends…” I bit my lip. Him:” But I love you Zee…” Me:” And that’s why telling you this is so hard, the last thing I want is to break your heart or hurt you in any way…” Him:” Why would you lead me on like that only to…” Voice:” Beautiful people.” It was Thabo, he couldn’t have come at a better time. Me:” Hey T’bose, how are you doing?” I faked a smile. T’bose:” I can’t complain. I see you kept my man over here company.” Tebo didn’t say anything, he just kept quiet. I broke his heart, now I really feel bad. Me:” I had to, angithi wena you up and left him here all alone.” T’bose:” I needed to take care of business.” Me:” Okay, look gentle guys I have to get going. It’s really dark right now and my mom will flip if she doesn’t find me at home when she arrives.” T’bose:” Alright, hamba kahle ntokazi enhle.” Me:” Whatever that means T’bose you too.” T’bose:” (Laughs) angiyena intokazi mina Zee.” Me:” Come on… I really don’t…” Tebo:” T’bose can we go now?” He cut me off before I could even finish my sentence. His really mad, I really messed things up between us. T’bose:” Sure, bye Zee.” Tebo walked away without saying goodbye and T’bose picked up that there was something off between me and Tebo, he raised his brows at me in a form of asking me what’s up and I just shrugged my shoulders. I watched them walk away and I walked back home.

On the way I sent Tebo a text. Me: I am really sorry, can we at least be friends? Maybe that can form into something. I put my phone away and walked into the house. Mom was busy cooking, odd because I didn’t see her drive by when I was standing with Tebo. Her:” Where were you? Did you see the time?” Eh! And then? It’s only 20:15, she needs to chill. Me:” I was with a friend mom, sorry I didn’t see the time.” I looked down. Her:” Its dark outside that should’ve been your time keeper!” Me:” I’m sorry, it won’t happen again.” Her:” Next time, please make yourself useful around the house. I get here and you didn’t cook, I have to work long hours and come back to cook for a grown lady like yourself, you need to start pulling your weight Zara, I’m not your maid.” She was talking to me in a calm manner but I felt like she was upset about something and she’s taking it out on me. Me:” Yes mom, I’ll start playing my part in this household.” Her:” That’s all I ask of you.” Me:” Can I be excused?” Her:” Yes, of course. Dinner will be ready in a few.” I just nodded and went to my room. I think I spend too much time in my room.
