First half of the day at school was so boring, we hadn’t started with work just going from class to class getting our textbooks and what not. I was in the same class with Amo and Busi, pity I didn’t share the same class with Sands, but it is okay, what was important was that he knew me. Busi and I were not vibing today, but that did not surprise me at all, I am sensing termination of friendship pretty soon between us. Voice:” Penny for your thoughts?” I didn’t even realize I was lost in my own world with all this thinking, I looked up and yeah, that was just about right… Me:” Amo, Hi…” I said that with boredom written all over my face, tried to fake a smile but my face muscles were failing me. Amo:” You don’t look too good, are you okay.” Wow he cares, didn’t think he had a heart but hey I had to say something. Me:” Oh… yes, I am great. Just hungry.” Amo:” One more period, then its break time and then you can go feed your beautiful self.” I do not know but the way Amo was looking straight into my eyes when he was talking to me, it felt as if he was searching for something, I mean, some kind of connection between us but because I was so bored of this conversation we were having, I had to get rid of him. Me:” Of course, just that I’m not so eager to me in mathematics for 30 min.” I said that taking my phone out of my pocket and making myself look busy with it. Amo:” Yeah sure, I can sense some hostility in the atmosphere so I’ll leave you to it.” Suddenly I felt bad, I looked at him as he walked away from my desk and a part of me just wanted to call him back and apologize for being so rude but then again Sands popped in my mind and I just let him walk.

When the siren went indicating that it was break, man I was so relived. Like I was so hungry, I could do with a full coarse meal. As I walked through the door, I found Amo standing right next to the door and it seemed like he was waiting for someone, I paid him no mind so I just passed him while busy with my phone. Amo:” So you just going to pass me like that?” I turned to look at him, a part of me just wanted to walk away but I couldn’t do that, I mean his always been my high school crush and this day started with him calling me beautiful, so I owed him a bit of my attention now that he miraculously notices me after three years. Me:” Amo I almost didn’t see you there, sorry… busy with my phone here.” Waved it in the air. Amo:” You and that phone really have a close relationship, makes one jealous.” Me:” Me and my buddy here are inseparable, so you were saying?” Amo:” Nothing, I just thought I could walk with you to go buy food?” Dude, after three freaken years of trying to get your attention and now out of the purple you want to go buy lunch with me? Like seriously? God knows how much I wanted to voice that out but I just kept it in my head. I just stood there and looked at him, honestly I didn’t know what to say. He was so handsome though, you know Amo is a charmer boy, he was also your average buffed guy, pitch black eyes, fairly dark in complexion, had sideburns for days, he was a looker. Amo:” Earth to Zara…” he clicked his fingers at me. Me:” Oh… sorry, of course we can walk together.” I smiled and stretched out my hand to him. We were walking hand in hand, I was intrigued by the way he was so comfortable walking with me holding hands in front of everyone. We were talking about the maths teacher and how boring she was. As we were walking down the stairs towards the cafeteria, I lifted my head and it’s when I saw Sands walking up the same stairs. He looked at me and smiled, my eyes were all over the place, a part of me wanted to let go of Amo’s hand but I didn’t want to look guilty of something, but also, I didn’t want Sands thinking I am dating Amo, so I just greet him as he passed us. Me:” Hi Sands…” He winked at me. Phew, that was a close call. Amo:” New guy in town?” Me:” You’re telling me that you don’t know him?” Amo:” Never met him before…” Me:” Oh… Is that so?” Amo:” Yes!” He said that rather annoyed by me asking. He let my hand go when we got to the cafeteria. I bought a beef burger with fries and a 500 ml cold drink and he just bought a pie. Me:” I got to get to my friends, I’ll see you around?” Amo:” Of course.” I walked away, I don’t know how to feel but Amo is acting weird. As I was walking towards the spot where the ladies and I usually sit, I was disturbed by what I saw. Could it be that she beat me to it? I thought to myself. That really broke my heart a bit.
